Luke was a physician who was a contemporary of the Apostle Paul. Luke was also a Gentile, the only Gentile writer in the Scriptures. What was so different about his message? Luke emphasized that Jesus' message was for ALL people, even the hated Gentiles and Samaritans. Many of the parables told in Luke tell of the need to be kind and respectful of all people, no matter who they were or where they came from.
